Role Overview:
The Certified Surgical Assistant anticipates the needs of the surgical team and assists the surgeon with tasks such as equipment selection, setup, positioning, providing retraction, cauterization, suturing, medication instillation, and applying dressings, splints, and casts. The role includes preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate patient care and requires effective communication to ensure optimal outcomes.
