Job summary

Specialty1 Partners' Oral Surgery Center of Stamford seeks a skilled Surgical Assistant to support our busy specialty practice. You will prepare the surgical area, assist the surgeon, keep areas sterilized, monitor vitals, and guide patients with post-op instructions.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of surgical assisting, dental instrument knowledge, strong safety awareness, and excellent communication. A high school diploma, CPT/certificate, and radiology license (if required) are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ year of experience as a surgical assistant.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• High school diploma and relevant certification.
• Active radiology license if required by law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating needs and assisting as required.
• Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
• Monitor and record patient vitals and ensure comfort and safety.
• Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
• Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.
• Facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
