Surgical Assistant - Mary Immaculate Hospital
Job Summary

Responsible for providing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The team member functions in the assistant role during procedures, under supervision of the MD, performing duties such as providing exposure, assisting with hemostasis, skin closure, and other technical tasks. Additionally, the team member supports the mission and goals of the department and hospital through various other duties.

Qualifications
  • Registered with the Virginia Board of Medicine as a Surgical Assistant and/or certified or trained in the military.
  • Registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine is required for new employees certified or trained in the military.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience and/or completion of a Surgical Assistant program.
  • Certification by NBSTSA, NCCSA, or NSAA as a Surgical Assistant is strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
