The surgical team delivers intraoperative assistance under surgeon supervision, plus preoperative and postoperative duties to ensure safe patient care. When not needed as a Surgical Assistant, the employee will perform Surgical Technologist duties.

This is a casual (0.01 FTE) opening, meaning there are no guaranteed hours or scheduled shifts each pay period.
The surgical assistant provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The surgical assistant also performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate safe patient care. The surgical assistant performs these duties under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and in accordance with hospital policies and appropriate laws and regulations. Employee will act in the Surgical Technologist role when not needed in the Surgical Assistant role.
