Job summary

PIH Health in Downey, California is seeking an experienced PA or NP to join our hybrid OR and clinic team. The role combines surgical first‑assist duties with direct patient care in the clinic, tailored to your specialty and experience in Orthopedic & Sports Medicine or General Surgery.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of clinical NP/PA experience, strong surgical background, and can deliver high‑quality care across OR, clinic, hospital and ED settings.

Qualifications

• Current California NP or PA-C license and applicable certifications.
• 3–5 years of clinical NP/PA experience.
• Surgical first-assist experience preferred.
• Experience with wound closure and post-operative rounding.
• Clinic consultations and follow-ups experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within scope of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Collaborative with surgeons and multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as surgical first‑assist in OR and provide direct patient care in clinic.

Required Skills And Experience

• Current California NP or PA-C license and applicable certifications
• 3–5 years of clinical experience as an NP or PA-C
• Previous surgical first-assist experience strongly preferred
• Experience with wound closure
• Experience with post-operative rounding
• Experience conducting clinic consultations and follow-ups
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively and autonomously within the provider's scope of practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons and a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Compensation Range:150K-$175K
