Novant Health Wilmington Surgical Associates is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider to join our Surgical Oncology team, focusing on breast and melanoma surgery. The APP will participate in preoperative evaluation, postoperative management, survivorship, and coordination of multidisciplinary care.

Responsibilities include new patient consultations, first-assist in the OR for breast/melanoma procedures, wound care, and coordination of imaging and lab studies.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree required; NP or PA path with master's degree.
  • National certification required after January 1, 2000.
  • Current NP or PA license in appropriate state and DEA registration.
  • Continuing education is mandatory for recertification and for regulatory recognition.

What We Offer

Novant Health Wilmington Surgical Associates is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Surgical Oncology team with a specialized focus on breast and melanoma surgery.


This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with one of our experienced surgical oncologists in a collaborative environment. The APP will provide comprehensive care throughout the surgical oncology continuum, including preoperative evaluation, postoperative management, patient education, survivorship, and coordination of multidisciplinary care.


Responsibilities include:



  • New patient consultations and comprehensive history and physical examinations

  • Postoperative follow-up and wound assessment

  • First-assist in OR for breast and melanoma surgical procedures

  • Management of drains, incisions, and postoperative concerns

  • Coordination of imaging, pathology, laboratory testing, and other diagnostic studies

  • Communication of pathology and postoperative results

  • In-office excisions and minor procedures

  • Coordination of referrals and multidisciplinary oncology care


Schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, no call, no holidays, no weekends

What We're Looking For


  • Education: Graduate Degree, required. Master's degree in NP program or post Master's NP program. As of January 1, 2005, all new NP graduates must have a Master's Degree. National certification required after January 1, 2000. Continuing education is mandatory for recertification and for continuing regulatory recognition to practice in the State. Graduate Degree, required. Graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, required.

  • Experience: One to three years of experience working in a physician practice setting, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification: Current NP or PA license in appropriate state, registry w/state medical bd, current DEA registry, required.

  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
