Job summary

Novant Health Provider Recruitment is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Asheville, NC, to assist in general and endocrine surgery. This role involves working with a growing surgical practice while supporting pre- and post-surgery patients.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree, a current PA license, and have at least one year of surgical experience. The position offers medical and retirement benefits along with initiatives supporting work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; graduate of an NCCPA‑accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current PA license in the applicable state; NCCPA board certification; ACLS and DEA registries required.
• One year of experience in surgery is preferred.
• Knowledge of diagnosis, pharmacology, and chronic illness management.

Novant Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a busy, growing surgical practice of five physicians and five APPs in Asheville, NC. The APP will assist in general and endocrine surgery and provide care for pre‑ and post‑surgery patients in the office.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of functions under the supervision of surgeons, including surgical assistance and office management of surgical patients.
• Educate patients on care plans, postoperative instructions, and chronic disease management.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient‑focused, compassionate care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the system‑wide EHR (Epic).
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree required; graduate of an NCCPA‑accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensure/Certification: Current PA license in the applicable state; NCCPA board certification; ACLS and DEA registries required. RNFA is required for NP candidates.
• Experience: One year of experience in surgery is preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of diagnosis, pharmacology, and chronic illness management; proficiency in physical assessment; strong verbal and written communication; basic computer proficiency; ability to work independently while collaborating effectively; problem‑solving, decision‑making, and patient rehabilitation skills.
