Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C or FNP with RNFA) to join our General Surgery team in the operating room. You will first assist in the OR and manage perioperative care with surgeons and the surgical team.

The role requires collaboration, strong surgical skills, and basic education/certification as outlined in the APRN/PA guidelines. Expect a 4-day, 10-hour workweek, Monday–Friday, with 5–7 on-call days per month.

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree from a program recognized by state's Licensing Board.
• Graduate of an ARC-approved Physician Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Conducts medical histories and physicals, initiates labs and tests, and develops diagnoses and treatment plans with the care team.
• Performs routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and hospital.
• Prescribes and monitors medications as allowed by license and policy.
• Educates patients about disease, treatments and side effects.
• Participates in medical rounds and coordinates care with nursing and other teams.
• Refers patients to specialists and ensures continuity of care across disciplines.
• Monitors quality of care and discharge planning; supports team development and evidence-based practice.
