The role you’ll contribute:
Under minimal supervision, the Surgical Waiting Room Attendant maintains all aspects of the waiting area, including but not limited to: serving as the information liaison between surgical staff and the patient’s family; placing charts in order for the day; printing wristbands for bypass; printing schedules; putting patients in beds and pulling charts; providing patient families with the patient tracking board; answering department phones; preparing packets and ER charts for add-ons; ensuring that cards and charge sheets are placed in charts at the end of the day; preparing outpatient tracking boards for the following day; maintaining records of surgery times; preparing pre-op beds; transporting patients; responsible for the inventory and ordering of supplies, equipment, and services needed to support the efficient operation of the assigned nursing unit and patient care delivery; and assisting nurse techs, nurses, surgeons, anesthesia, and other staff members as necessary.
