Seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon with proven leadership and team-building skills to work collaboratively within a community-based practice.

The current cardiovascular practice includes two accomplished surgeons with over 40 years of combined experience. One is retiring at the end of 2017.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and advance a team-oriented cardiology/cardiovascular service line that meets community needs and provides high-quality care. Develop benchmarks to exceed patient expectations and position the health system in the top 10 percentile for clinical quality, patient safety, and experience.
• Assess market trends and identify service gaps and growth opportunities within primary and secondary service areas.
• Stay updated on national trends to ensure access to the latest advanced therapies.
• Participate in research protocol development and analysis.
• Engage actively in Medical Staff and Administrative committees to improve care, outcomes, and service line performance.
• Maintain competency standards as set by the ACC/STS.
• Foster teamwork through collaboration with medical staff, nursing, administration, and healthcare team members.
• Build sustainable, professional relationships with referring physicians such as Primary Care Physicians and Cardiologists.
• Collaborate with other physicians to improve clinical outcomes, processes, and research support.
