Job description

Specialty: Thoracic Surgery - Director of Lung Cancer Program - North Georgia - Atlanta Region

Seeking an experienced Thoracic Surgeon to lead the Lung Cancer Program

  1. Develop and implement strategies to ensure delivery of excellent cancer care and treatment outcomes.
  2. Lead research projects in thoracic cancers and actively participate in the Lung Cancer Program.
  3. Primary focus: thoracic surgery involving lung, esophageal, and other respiratory system cancers.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in program growth and leadership, combined with experience in advanced technologies and surgical innovations to enhance the Program's commitment to excellent patient outcomes. This individual will collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and administrators to foster a culture centered on patient care, emphasizing quality, safety, and efficiency.

Position Requirements:

  1. Board-certified thoracic surgeon.
  2. Fellowship trained in cardiothoracic surgery or thoracic surgical oncology.
  3. Proficiency in minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
  4. 5-8 years of clinical experience preferred.
  5. Proven leadership in a progressive academic medical center or community hospital.
  6. Experience and commitment to cancer research and clinical trials are highly desirable.
