Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Oklahoma City is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in the operating room. The technician will manage instruments, supplies and equipment, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and help maintain the sterile field.

Independent of experience, the role emphasizes teamwork in a hospital setting; a high school diploma or GED and completed surgical technology training, plus BLS certification, are required. Prior OR experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Surgical technology training or related program/experience.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Handle instruments, supplies and equipment used during surgery.
• Convey instruments to the surgeon and assist as needed.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure safety as a safety-sensitive position.

The Surgical Technician handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment utilized during the surgical procedure. The technologist must understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon. The Surgical Technician conveys instruments and supplies to the surgeon, assists the surgeon as necessary, and is responsible for maintenance of the sterile field.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); Graduation from a surgical technology training program or related training and/or experience; Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

• Previous Operating Room experience desired, especially in Orthopedics, but not mandatory.
