Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate elective, cardiovascular and vascular procedures in a centralized scheduling environment. You will enter orders, manage patient data and support physicians and staff.

The role requires accurate data entry, strong communication and the ability to handle confidential information in a fast-paced setting. Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm in Glendale, AZ.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
2 years of medical clerical experience, preferably in hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling.
Knowledge of medical terminology and payor contract terms; strong organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate case times for elective, urgent or emergent surgeries using a computerized scheduling system.
Acquire authorization numbers and medical records as needed for procedures.
Type and print physician orders; schedule and manage block times.
Enter orders for labs, imaging and other tests; compile data for management reports.
Conduct charge management audits and correct discrepancies as appropriate.
Answer phones, greet patients and act as liaison among staff, physicians and families.
Enter facility and supply work orders; arrange repairs and equipment transport as required.
Maintain smooth workflow with minimal supervision even under stressful situations.
