A leading healthcare institution seeks a Surgery Scheduler to manage patient appointments and ensure accurate insurance authorizations. This role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of OB/GYN procedures, and computer proficiency. Flexible working hours and travel to clinics are expected, making this an essential role in patient care coordination.
As a Surgery Scheduler, float, you will be responsible for patient scheduling, admissions, and therapeutic procedures: obtaining insurance authorizations, answer, screen and respond to incoming calls, prepare all documentation, charts, encountering and other information needed for physician clinics, schedule patient needed appointments, x-rays, surgery, and tests. Prepare all necessary documents and forward to appropriate departments including insurance authorizations, charge documents and reconciliations and disability and worker's compensation forms. Explain charges to patients and assist patients with billing questions, communicated directly with department billing and Physician Support Services. Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, nursing units and other UCLA departments. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, as needed. Responsibilities also include providing support in appointment scheduling, pre-registration, patient reception, cash collection and other related duties. The AAIII will travel and work at department clinics throughout the community as assigned by the supervisor for coverage. Other duties, as assigned.
Salary Range: $29.42 - $42.14 Hourly
