Premier Orthopaedic Trauma Specialists in Upland, CA is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgeries and in-office procedures for three physicians. Expect roughly 30-40 surgeries and 10-20 procedures monthly, with scheduling expertise and orthopaedic codes knowledge highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of surgery scheduling experience, orthopaedic experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes required.
• Experience obtaining prior authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
• Experience with Excel spreadsheets and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries and in-office procedures using operating room block time, often during clinic visits or by phone.
• Confirm eligibility and benefits with insurance plans and obtain prior authorizations.
• Advise patients on benefits, collect deductibles, co-insurance, or deposits prior to procedures.
• Provide medical clearance and consent forms, follow up on returns.
• Call patients 1 day prior to surgery to confirm date, time, and instructions.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Back Office staff, and physicians on surgery appointments.

We are a busy Orthopaedic practice in Upland looking for a full-time surgery scheduler to coordinate surgeries and in-office procedures for our practice. We have three physicians which will book around 30-40 surgeries and 10-20 procedures each month. Surgery scheduling experience required. Familiarity with Orthopaedic procedures and codes is a plus!

Primary Job Duties

• Procedure & Surgery Scheduling: must utilize the operating room block time to schedule surgery time with patients; this is often done in person during clinic appointments but can also be done via phone
• Authorizations & Eligibility: must confirm patient eligibility and benefits with insurance plan and must submit for and obtain prior authorizations for all procedures or surgeries. _Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes required.
• Advise patients of benefit info, collect any deductibles, co-insurance, or deposits prior to procedure/surgery dates
• Provide patients with medical clearance and consent forms; follow up with patients for returned clearance and consentsCancel and/or reschedule appointments as needed
• Call patients one day prior to surgery for confirmation of date, time, and any pre-surgery instructions
• Work with Front Office staff, Back Office medical assistants and physicians with regards to surgery appointments.
