Job summary

Ventura Orthopedics is seeking a dedicated Surgery Scheduler to join our team. You will coordinate surgical procedures, obtain insurance authorizations, and serve as a liaison between patients, providers, hospitals, and insurers.

The role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and professional communication to ensure smooth scheduling and patient care in a busy orthopedic practice. This full-time position includes a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 12 to 18 months of related healthcare, medical scheduling, insurance verification, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong computer and office technology skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgeries and pre-operative appointments.
  • Coordinate surgery schedules with physicians, hospitals, and surgical facilities.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Obtain insurance precertifications and authorizations.
  • Secure surgery authorizations for workers' compensation and industrial patients.
  • Communicate surgical instructions and information to patients.
  • Prepare and mail patient surgery packets and related materials.
  • Locate and pull patient charts for scheduled procedures.
  • Complete surgery scheduling forms required by hospitals and surgical centers.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, providers, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do
