Job summary

Methodist Ambulatory Surgery-Medical Center is seeking a Scheduler for its surgery center to manage patient surgical procedures and keep the operating room schedule efficient. You will obtain CPT/ICD-10 codes and coordinate with physicians’ offices and Medical Records to ensure accurate scheduling.

Requirements include at least one year in a medical office and prior experience scheduling surgeries in hospital or ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting.
• Experience scheduling surgical procedures in either a hospital or ambulatory surgery setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes and other clinical information as required by the physician's office.
• Prepare documentation for Notification of Non-covered Medicare Services or Advance Beneficiary notices to patients and notify physician's offices about these procedures.
• Complete chart requests from Medical Records and notify the Materials Manager/Nurse Manager of physician requests or equipment needs for upcoming surgeries.
• Determine the duration for surgeries in the operating room and coordinate with the OR nurse to streamline the daily schedule.
• Maintain the center block schedule list and arrange necessary anesthesia coverage.
• Call/fax physician offices to notify them of open schedule times for additional cases.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Scheduler for our surgery center, you will be responsible for proving and contributing to the company's mission, vision, and values by scheduling patient's surgical procedures and maintaining the surgery schedule.
