Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Surgery team. This role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and opportunities to provide high‑quality patient care using our cutting‑edge technology.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), BLS within 14 days of hire, and at least 1 year of nursing experience. Schedule: Full-Time Day 3x12; comprehensive benefits and ongoing professional development are

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
• Requires one year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on‑call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
