Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Lexington is seeking a Medical Surgical Nurse to provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, with service lines such as cardiac, orthopedic, or critical care, while continuing to expand your education and experience. This position is eligible for up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus and up to $24,000 in Student Loan Assistance.

Qualifications

• Must hold Kentucky RN license at hire.
• CPR/BLS at hire; ACLS within 90 days; PALS within 6 months.
• Direct patient care and supervision in surgical service areas.
• Strong communication and critical thinking required.
• Ability to adapt in fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides direct patient care as well as supervision of personnel practicing in surgical service areas.
• Proactively matches existing resources seeking ways to provide patient care that supports staff and maintains a therapeutic environment.
• Assures that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
• Communicates personnel related concerns to Nurse Manager.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and implements appropriate change using logical problem solving skills.
• Maintains Unit Professional standards.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

This position is eligible for up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus AND up to $24,000 Student Loan Assistance

As our Medical Surgical Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, often from specialized service lines like cardiac, orthopedic, or critical care, continuously building your education and experience.

Every day you will perform patient assessments, administer medications, manage complex care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, adapting to rapidly changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
