Position: Surgery Veterinary Credentialed Technician
Our Surgery team offers a fast-paced environment ideal for technicians seeking comprehensive training across multiple facets of the department and collaboration with other hospital teams. This role requires strong communication skills to liaise between surgeons and clients, and to provide post-operative care instructions.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, maintain medical records, handle invoicing, and discharges.
- Fill medications, enter charges, and ensure accurate medical documentation.
- Create patient releases and discuss treatment plans and financial obligations with clients.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing, positioning, and assist with intubation and radiographs.
- Perform blood draws and submit bloodwork.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of operating rooms, instruments, and packs.
Qualifications:
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
- Prior veterinary experience required; surgery experience preferred.
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, infusions, conversions).
- Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours as needed.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
