AdventHealth Wesley Chapel seeks an experienced Program Director to establish and lead a new General Surgery Graduate Medical Education program in central Florida. The role starts July 2028 with 3 residents per year, emphasizing curriculum development, accreditation governance, and a strong resident experience.

Qualifications

Be duly licensed to practice medicine in Florida.
Demonstrate ongoing clinical and scholarly activity; eligible for Medicare/Medicaid providers.
Active ADVENTHEALTH Medical Staff member in good standing.
Board certification by ABMS or AOA in relevant specialty.
At least three years of specialty-specific educational/administrative experience.

Surgery Physician Employment In Florida

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, a 193-bed hospital in central Florida, seeks an experienced Program Director to develop our NEW General Surgery Graduate Medical Education program.

The program will start in July 2028 with 3 residents per program year. We’re looking for a General Surgeon who has the desire to be a part of a growing program, a passion for medical education, and who will place a priority on collaboration, quality of care, and the patient and resident experience.

Program Director Qualifications

Be duly licensed to practice medicine in Florida

Be an active member in good standing of the AdventHealth Medical Staff
Hold current certification in relevant specialty by ABMS or AOA.
Have at least three (3) years of relevant, specialty specific, documented educational and/or administrative experience.

A strong emphasis will be placed on evidence-based medicine with a concentration on patient centered care. Ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth.
