Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is hiring a Surgery Nurse to prepare patients for surgery and provide exemplary perioperative care in a high‑quality operating suite.

You will serve as a patient advocate, participate in care planning, and support quality improvement initiatives within our non‑profit hospital in Gilbert, AZ. This role requires an AZ RN license and BLS; ACLS within 6 months of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma, ADN, or foreign equivalent required.
• One year of medical/surgical, ICU, or telemetry experience.
• Must hold an Arizona RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS mandatory.
• ACLS mandatory within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon and surgical team in the OR
• Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
• Develop and implement the nursing care plan for surgical patients
• Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
• Demonstrate compassion and empathy toward patients

Education

ADN / Diploma or foreign equivalent

Benefits

• Dignity Health Education Benefit program: up to $18,000 for full‑time employees and up to $9,000 for part‑time employees, available after 180 days of employment.
