Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry Nurse to care for telemetry patients with heart-related conditions. You will assess patient and family needs, develop and evaluate comprehensive nursing plans, and advocate for patients through holistic care.

Responsibilities include delivering evidence-based care, documenting interventions, and participating in process and quality improvement while maintaining cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

  • One year of RN experience is required.
  • ADN, Diploma, or Foreign Equivalent.
  • Registered Nurse license: AZ.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
  • BSN preferred.
  • One year of medical/surgical ICU experience preferred.

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the patient’s needs and comfort.
  • Demonstrates accountability for ethical behavior and supports ethical practice by addressing issues.
  • Documents assessments, reassessments, and all nursing interventions within established timeframes.
  • Uses cultural awareness to provide care aligned with patients' values and customs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiac Telemetry Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will care for Telemetry patients with an emphasis on patients with heart issues. This position will assess patient/family health problems and resources, while developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans. Your role is vital in promoting optimal health outcomes by balancing patient needs and comfort, demonstrating accountability for ethical behavior, and supporting ethical practices through astute issue resolution.

Every day you will provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, organizing and prioritizing patient activities with precision. You will serve as a patient advocate through holistic care practices, recognizing and adapting swiftly to changes in patient conditions (e.g., lab results, vitals). Utilizing the SBAR format for physician notification and performing bedside nurse-to-nurse reports are critical daily functions. You’ll also participate in process and quality improvement activities, delegate tasks appropriately, and involve patients/families in their care plans using therapeutic communication, all while maintaining cultural sensitivity.

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent written and interpersonal communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to recognize your scope of practice by seeking multidisciplinary collaboration and utilizing appropriate resources are essential. Job Requirements
  • One (1) year RN experience
  • ADN, Diploma, or Foreign Equivalent
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months

  • One (1) year medical/surgical intensive care experience
