Locum Tenens General Surgeon

Position Type: Locum Tenens

Rate: Open & Negotiable
Shift: 24-hour call (7a–7a); 5–7 days/month
Start Date: June 13, 2025
End Date: June 23, 2025 (additional dates TBD)

Position Details:
Patient Population: Adults (18+); pediatric/adolescent patients sent to nearby children’s hospital
Setting: Community hospital; hospital-based general surgery & Level III trauma call
Responsibilities: Inpatient general surgery, trauma consults, possible coordination with APPs from office practice
Required Procedures:

• General surgical cases (adult & trauma)

• Central line insertion

• PA catheter placement

• Chest tube insertion

• Vascular access

• Cholecystectomy

• Hernioplasty

• Appendectomies

• Bowel resections

• Trauma surgery for internal organ injuries
  EMR System: Epic
  Support Staff: Experienced OR staff; skilled in robotic and general surgical procedures
  Days Per Month: ~5–7
  On-Call/Weekends: Yes

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified – Required

• BLS, ACLS, ATLS Certified – Required

• Active OH License – Required (no IMLC)

• Clean file – Required

• Availability for all listed June dates – Required
