Position Overview
A regional medical center in eastern North Carolina is seeking a board-certified General Surgeon to provide inpatient and outpatient locum tenens coverage. This is a great opportunity for a surgeon comfortable with routine general surgical cases, call coverage, and optional clinic follow-up. Assignment Highlights

• HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency
• Dates Needed:
• Specific dates in June and July

• Inpatient and outpatient coverage
• Call coverage with 30-minute response time (off-site permitted)
• Established practice with experienced nursing staff
• Clinic follow-up for OR cases preferred, one day/week optional
• 5 ORs with Da Vinci robot available
• No backup for ER required
• ED averages 70 visits/day
• Average surgical cases: 70/month
• Average clinic census: 15 patients/day
• Admissions per day: 12; night: 1-2
• Support available from radiology, anesthesia, and nearby Level I trauma center
• 142-bed hospital; Level III trauma designation
• EPIC EMR Skills & Experience
  • Board Certified in General Surgery (required)
  • Active North Carolina license (required)
  • BLS and ACLS (required)
  • Comfortable managing general surgery cases in a community hospital setting
  • Experience with robotic-assisted surgery preferred but not required
