Job Summary:

HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida, is assisting a local General Surgery Practice in recruiting a General Surgeon to join a 2-person team in beautiful Niceville, Florida.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze patient's medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination results to verify the necessity of surgery and determine the best procedure.
2. Operate on patients to correct deformities, repair injuries, prevent and treat diseases, or improve or restore patient functions.
3. Follow established surgical techniques during operations.
4. Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and procedures, such as sedatives, diets, antibiotics, and preparation and treatment of the operative area.
5. Examine patients to obtain information on medical conditions and surgical risks.
6. Diagnose bodily disorders and orthopedic conditions, providing treatments such as medicines and surgeries in clinics, hospital wards, and operating rooms.
7. Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, residents, and other medical staff.
8. Provide consultation and surgical assistance to other physicians and surgeons.
9. Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
10. Examine instruments, equipment, and the operating room to ensure sterility.

Qualification Requirements:

• Ability to perform healthcare tasks in vascular surgery and related areas effectively, in line with patient health and welfare.
• Ability to obtain and maintain clinical hospital privileges.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to travel within the community.
• Good diagnostic capabilities.

Experience:

• Graduate of an approved program or equivalent.
• Meets standards set by the Board of Medicine.
• Valid medical license in Florida, in good standing.
• Complies with all regulations in Chapter 458 F. S. Medical Practice.
