Job summary

Plano Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join our team. You will be the key link between patients, providers, and surgical teams to ensure a seamless scheduling experience.

The ideal candidate has prior surgery scheduling or medical office experience, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, plus familiarity with electronic scheduling tools; a solid understanding of HIPAA is essential.

Qualifications

  • Prior surgery scheduling or medical office experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication with patients and staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule preoperative and surgical appointments.
  • Organize lab tests, imaging, and documentation.
  • Communicate with patients and families via phone and email.
  • Maintain records and manage surgeon schedules, including clinical research.
  • Collaborate with physicians, hospital staff, and vendors to optimize schedules.
  • Ensure patient charts are complete and compliant with protocols.
