Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY seeks a certified Physician Assistant with strong cardiothoracic surgery experience to provide first assist in the OR, telemetry, and ICU duties. This PRN role requires availability for call shifts and inpatient coverage.

EMR is Epic; duties include inpatient rounds, procedures, and ongoing PRN coverage with PTO/vacation coverage. No APP support; direct surgeon collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Physician Assistant with cardiothoracic surgery experience.
• Proficient in first assisting.
• Comfortable with OR, telemetry, and ICU duties.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rounds and procedures for CT surgery.
• Provide surgery coverage; support surgeons during CT cases.
• PRN coverage with PTO/vacation planning and 24h call responsibilities.

Location: Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY

Setting: Inpatient / OR

FTE: PRN

EMR: Epic

Summary: Seeking a certified PA with strong CT surgery experience. Must be proficient first assisting and comfortable with OR, telemetry, and ICU duties.

Schedule / Call

• 24 hr call: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
• Call: 1 2 days/week & 1 weekend/month
• Weekend: Friday 7 AM Monday 7 AM
• Includes inpatient rounds, procedures, surgery coverage
• Ongoing PRN & PTO/vacation coverage
