Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to support 3Cardiac Surgeons in inpatient care and a full range of cardiothoracic procedures. The PA will perform surgical/first‑assist duties in the OR, harvest veins for CABG, place arterial lines and chest tubes, and participate in weekend rounds; call rotations apply.

New graduates are welcome and surgical experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant license in Kentucky.
• Willing to learn; new graduates welcome; prior surgical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical/first‑assist duties in the OR including CABG vein harvesting, arterial line placement, and chest tube placement.
• Participate in inpatient-only practice, respond to call for surgeries, and weekend rounding in a 1:4 rotation.
