About the organization
Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH) is the second-largest County-owned health and hospital system in California and is committed to improving the health of the 1.9 million people of Santa Clara County. SCVH comprises four hospitals: Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC - a 731-bed central hospital), O’Connor Hospital (OCH - 358 licensed beds), Saint Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH – 93 licensed beds) and Regional Medical Center (RMC - 258 licensed beds). In addition, SCVH includes a network of primary care clinics comprised of eleven health centers throughout the County, several urgent care clinics, dental services, primary care behavioral health services, and a broad range of specialty services in our Valley Specialty Center.
Providers in our health system also have the opportunity to use our integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together systemwide patient information. The Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) recognized SCVMC for achieving its highest level of success (Stage 7), based on our continuous innovation and optimization of our inpatient and outpatient EHR.
About the Department/Divisions
The Department of Surgery includes over 75 full-time physicians organized into 9 different divisions, including general surgery/trauma, otolaryngology/head and neck, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive, urology, ophthalmology, cardiac (thoracic/vascular), podiatry and dental. Allied Health Professionals including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, are an integral part of our team.

About the Positions
Full-time ENT Surgeon: This position requires excellent training in general Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. The preferred candidate will be flexible and eager to practice evidence-based patient care for our vulnerable population at multiple sites within our Healthcare System. Experience with trauma is necessary. Additionally, a strong background and interest in laryngology is preferred, with fellowship training welcome but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about continuing to improve our practice and advance the clinical expertise that our division offers.
Full-time Acute Care and Trauma Surgeon: The position is with the general surgery division. Applicants must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery with added experience in Acute Care Surgery and have or be able to obtain a California medical license. Advanced postgraduate training is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive ability to provide surgical evaluation and management of critically ill patients in trauma and emergency general surgery. Clinical opportunities in elective General Surgery may be available based on the clinical expertise and interest of the candidate and available clinical volume. Teaching and working with residents, fellows and medical students are required.
Full-time Trauma Medical Director: We are seeking a Trauma Medical Director for a Level 2 Trauma Center at Regional Medical Center. Applicants must be board certified in General Surgery and have several years of trauma experience in a level 1 or 2 trauma center. Fellowship training in Trauma/Critical Care is preferred but not required. Prior administrative experience within Trauma or Quality is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive ability to provide surgical evaluation and management of critically ill patients in trauma and emergency general surgery. In addition, the candidate will need to be able to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary trauma team and our advanced practice providers. Clinical opportunities in elective General Surgery may be available based on the clinical expertise and interest of the candidate. The candidate must have or be able to obtain a valid California medical license.
