Job summary

HCA Florida Putnam Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist (PRN) to support our operating room team in Palatka, FL. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist during operations, and collaborate with a skilled team to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) required
• Graduation from Surgical Technician program preferred
• Previous scrubbing experience preferred
• 1 year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the surgical suite with instruments, supplies and equipment
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping and draping
• Scrub in and hand instruments, handle specimens, anticipate team’s needs
• Monitor patients and equipment during procedures and respond to concerns
• Uphold sterile technique and support a collaborative team environment

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
• Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
• Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment

What qualifications you will need

• Graduation from Surgical Technician program is preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) is required
• Previous scrubbing experience is preferred
• 1 year of experience preferred
