Description:

The Surgical Technician assists in facilitating patient care by supporting the physician during surgeries across various specialties in the Operating Room (OR). They perform technical duties and some patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role functions as a clinical specialist across multiple service lines, taking on additional responsibilities to maintain surgical specialties as needed, and serves as a resource within the department. The position involves engaging in detailed surgical procedures and contributing to the overall functioning of the surgery department.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a Surgical Technology Program or an LPN program.
2. Minimum Experience: Surgical Tech Certification with at least 3 years of experience. Alternatively, 7 years of surgical tech experience can substitute for certification, totaling 10 years of experience.
3. Licensure/Certification: Current GA LPN License if applicable. Certification as a Surgical Technologist or licensure as an LPN is required. BLS certification is also required.
