Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team at Kernersville, NC. This full-time role offers four 10-hour day shifts (6:30A–5P), with on-call requirements and rotating days off.

You will work under a surgeon and RN to facilitate sterile techniques, verify equipment, and help ensure patient safety during invasive procedures in a fast-paced OR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or military training (68D) preferred.
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• Current CST/TS-C/NRCST/SA-C certification preferred; state-specific regulations may apply.

Responsibilities

What We Offer

• Schedule: 40 hours (FT), Four 10 hour shifts (day shift). The schedule will be 6:30A-5P, M-F with some call required (call will be reviewed more in depth during interview). Day off each week will rotate.

What You'll Do

• The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures
• Ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
• Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D - Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
• Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech Certification (CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C), preferred. Current Surgical Tech Certification - based on state specific regulations (South Carolina Region Only), required.
• Additional Skills (required): For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements may apply: recommended for new graduates to obtain certification within 12 months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
