Job summary

Peabody Energy is seeking a Surface Miner for the Twentymile Mine in Oak Creek, CO. This full-time role offers an hourly pay range of $39.63–$42.52 depending on experience, with responsibilities on surface operations and wash plant work.

The position reports to the Surface Leadman and requires operating surface equipment, performing walk-arounds, and maintaining high safety standards while rotating shifts. Benefits include PTO, 401(k), medical/dental/vision coverage, and more.

Qualifications

• General maintenance background.
• Welding and cutting skills.
• General electrical knowledge.
• Surface equipment operation knowledge.
• Tipple and wash plant knowledge.
• Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts.
• Certifications preferred (Mine foreman, EMT, Electrical).

Responsibilities

• Operate the wash plant control room and buildings.
• Operate surface equipment (front-end loader, dozer, bobcat, tipple equipment, loadout facility, etc.).
• Perform comprehensive equipment walk-arounds and maintain lubrication levels.
• Ensure good housekeeping across surface areas and equipment.
• Support loading of trucks and trains as part of mine operations.
