Job summary

Chevron is seeking an MCP OT Systems Lead to provide technical leadership for OT/PCN solutions across major capital projects. The role collaborates with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, IT, vendors, and project teams to design, secure, integrate, and deliver reliable OT systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of OT solutions for major capital projects.
• Provide technical leadership for industrial control systems, PCN, and IIoT technologies.
• Establish and maintain OT architecture standards and governance across project activities.
• Collaborate with project teams, operations, engineering contractors, system integrators, and vendors to meet requirements including cybersecurity.
• Review and influence technical designs during planning, engineering, procurement, testing, and startup.
• Support integration of control systems, industrial networks, historians, telecommunications systems, and vendor packages into the broader OT environment.
• Develop modernization, upgrade, and lifecycle strategies for brownfield and greenfield environments.
• Ensure cybersecurity considerations are incorporated throughout design and operational readiness.
• Support transition-to-operations planning with documentation, support models, and SOPs.
• Identify and manage technical risks and mitigation strategies.
• Serve as trusted advisor for OT initiatives across major capital projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and OT best practices and standards.

Job description

The MCP OT Systems Lead provides technical leadership for Operational Technology (OT) and Process Control Network (PCN) solutions supporting major capital projects. This role is responsible for ensuring OT systems are designed, integrated, secured, and delivered in alignment with project objectives and long‑term operational requirements.

The successful candidate will work across engineering, operations, cybersecurity, telecommunications, IT, vendors, and project teams to develop and deploy reliable OT solutions that support safe and efficient operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Lead the development and delivery of Operational Technology (OT) solutions for major capital projects.

• Provide technical leadership for industrial control systems, process control networks, industrial communications, edge computing, and IIoT technologies.

• Establish and maintain OT architecture standards, integration requirements, and technical governance across project activities.

• Collaborate with project teams, operations, engineering contractors, system integrators, and vendors to ensure OT solutions meet business, operational, and cybersecurity requirements.

• Review and influence technical designs during project planning, engineering, procurement, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.

• Support the integration of control systems, industrial networks, historians, telecommunications systems, and vendor packages into the broader OT environment.

• Develop modernization, upgrade, and lifecycle strategies for brownfield and greenfield industrial environments.

• Ensure cybersecurity considerations are incorporated throughout design, implementation, and operational readiness activities.

• Support transition‑to‑operations planning, including documentation, support models, operating procedures, and organizational readiness.

• Identify and manage technical risks, provide recommendations on mitigation strategies, and help drive safe and reliable project execution.

• Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for OT‑related initiatives across major capital projects.

• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, lessons learned, and the development of OT best practices and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of experience leading Operational Technology, Industrial Automation, Process Control Networks, or related disciplines within industrial or energy environments.

• Experience supporting large capital projects through multiple phases of execution, including design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and startup.

• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems such as DCS, PLC, and SIS platforms.

• Experience with Process Control Networks (PCN), network segmentation concepts, and OT infrastructure.

• Understanding of industrial cybersecurity principles and secure-by-design approaches.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and influence technical decisions across diverse organizations.

• Advanced English proficiency.

• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites, engineering offices, fabrication facilities, and operating assets as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading OT systems within the oil and gas, energy, chemicals, manufacturing, or other industrial sectors.

• Experience implementing cybersecurity frameworks, including ISA/IEC 62443.

• Experience with edge computing, IIoT technologies, industrial data integration, and advanced industrial systems.

• Experience working with EPC contractors, Main Automation Contractors (MACs), and system integration providers.

• Knowledge of brownfield modernization and lifecycle management programs.

• Previous experience supporting the transition of capital projects into operational environments.

• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership and mentoring within project teams.
