Job Title: Surface Maintenance Repairer (Accelerated Hire)

This position is located at the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility, and is part of the CA JFHQ SMO.

Requirements

• California National Guard Membership is required: This is an excepted service position requiring membership in the California National Guard. Selectees must wear the military uniform. • Compatible Military Assignment and Grade: Must be assigned to a military position in the same unit or supported by the employing activity, and hold the specified military grade.
• Priority Consideration:
  • Area I: Current California National Guard employees on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment.
  • Area II: Current California National Guard members.
  • Area III: Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Reserve, or Active Duty. Applicants outside the CNG must join a compatible unit prior to federal assignment.
• Military Grades: E-1 through E-9 or eligible for enlistment.
• Additional Requirements: No recruitment or relocation incentives authorized. No PCS relocation costs authorized. Must maintain security clearance, wear the military uniform, adhere to grooming standards, and participate in direct deposit.
• Security Clearance: At minimum, a National Agency Check.

Qualifications

• General Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of equipment, routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance, and use of common tools.
• WG-5801-05 (Trainee): At least 6 months experience with hand tools in repetitive repairs under supervision.
• WG-5801-08: At least 12 months experience with hand and power tools, test and measurement devices, and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
