This National Guard position is for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic, Position Description Number D1194000 with the Utah Army National Guard.
This vacancy prioritizes current military members of the Utah Army National Guard.
This is a 12-month roster to fill multiple positions throughout Utah. When applying, select your desired locations.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position requiring membership in a compatible military assignment within the employing state's National Guard. Applicants not currently in the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Contact a National Guard recruiter if unsure about eligibility.
Military Rank: Enlisted
Compatible Military Assignments: ENL: CMF 12, 13, 14, 19, 25, 88, 91, 92, 94.
*Your resume must detail how your duties and responsibilities in each position meet the general and specialized experience requirements listed below.
**Include beginning and ending dates of employment (MM/YYYY) and total hours worked per week to determine part-time vs. full-time credit.
Experience or training demonstrating knowledge of equipment to perform routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance, and ability to use common tools and equipment.
WG-05: Experience or training using common hand tools for repetitive repairs under close supervision, demonstrating ability to perform routine duties.
WG-08: Experience or training using hand and power tools, test and measurement devices for mechanical repairs, replacing, adjusting, and installing parts, understanding mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theories, reading parts lists, manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
WG-10: Extensive knowledge of complex systems, diagnosing, repairing, and modifying various vehicles and equipment, understanding electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and ability to repair major components like engines, transmissions, and electronic systems.
