Position Overview

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service position for a WG-5801-10 Surface Maintenance Mechanic (Title 32), with Position Description Number D1194000, part of the MO Field Maintenance Shop 10.

Appointment Details

This is an Indefinite Excepted Service position and is a bargaining position. See notes under Conditions of Employment below.

Military Requirements

Compatible military grade and assignment are required prior to the effective date of placement. This position requires membership in a compatible military assignment within the employing state's National Guard. Applicants not currently members must be eligible for immediate membership. For eligibility questions, contact a National Guard recruiter at 1-800-GO-GUARD (1-800-464-8273). The selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from the date of appointment.

Maximum Military Grade: Warrant Officer: CW4 (W-4) with a date of rank after 28 FEB 2022; Enlisted: CSM (E-9)

Warrant Officer Branches: 12, 13, 14, 19, 25, 91, 92, or 94; MOS 882A, 880A, or 881A

Enlisted MOS: CMF 12, 13, 14, 19, 25, 88, 91, 92, or 94

Supervisor must verify that the individual occupies a compatible military position. Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

Experience Requirements

General Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of equipment, routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance, and ability to use common tools and equipment.

WG-10 Specialized Experience: 18 months of experience in diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying various vehicles and equipment, including major components such as engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
