Job summary

Army National Guard Units in the United States (NC) seeks a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (WG-5801) to perform diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat and automotive vehicles. You will inspect, disassemble and replace parts, operate basic diagnostic tools, and conduct readiness checks in various locations.

The role requires ability to work in remote locations, maintain documentation, and potentially handle electronics repair of communication equipment.

Qualifications

• 12 months of experience required for WG-5801-08 level.
• 18 months of experience required for WG-5801-10 level.
• Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty mobile equipment and combat vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform limited diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles.
• Use basic test equipment and conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and related equipment.
• Remove, replace, and install parts and components such as pumps, seals, sensors, brakes, radiators and other items of similar complexity.
• Maintain supply documentation and inventory of tools and parts; may assist in maintenance of production reports.
