Job Title:Surety/ Construction Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Frisco, TX, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join its growing surety and construction practice. The role will primarily focus on litigation in state and federal courts, dispute resolution, counseling on construction matters, and drafting and negotiating contracts. This opportunity is remote with occasional travel and is open to attorneys licensed in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Mississippi, Oklahoma, or Texas.

Duties:

Handle litigation matters involving surety claims and construction disputes.

Advise clients on contract drafting, negotiation, and construction-related agreements.

Represent clients in dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.

Collaborate closely with fellow attorneys, consultants, and clients in a team environment.

Manage matters independently with attention to deadlines and detail.

Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

Provide counsel on mechanics’ liens, bond claims, and construction contract issues.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in surety, construction law, or litigation.

Active license to practice law in Texas or eligibility under the UBE (Uniform Bar Examination).

Availability for occasional business travel as needed.

Local residence in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Mississippi, Oklahoma, or Texas.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active Bar membership in Texas or a UBE-eligible jurisdiction.

Skills:

Practical or legal understanding of the construction industry preferred.

Familiarity with construction disputes, mechanics’ liens, and contract negotiation (preferred but not mandatory).

Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Strong academic achievements.

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Organized with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
