Primary Purpose

Supervise, direct, and control day-to-day Fleet Services maintenance operations in multiple repair facilities to safely maintain vehicle availability, reliability, performance, and appearance consistent with Company objectives and standards in a cost-effective manner. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties

Direct and supervise employees in day-to-day operations and activities at multiple Fleet Services repair facilities and coordinate activities across multiple shifts and locations. Ensure adherence to Company and departmental safety rules and practices. Provide coaching and discipline, when necessary, to employees to achieve and maintain optimum performance in safety and productivity.

Implement and manage all safety initiatives, preventive maintenance programs, management plans, and training programs. Assure compliance with all Federal, State and local safety, environmental, vehicle and workplace regulations.

Manage cross-functional relationships and establish effective communications with line management and organizational leadership.

Ensure that appropriate inventory levels of parts and supplies are maintained through use of approved Fleet Services supply strategies. Manage all budgetary aspects for the facilities under his/her direct responsibility, including costs of material, labor, and contracted services.

Create and maintain a safe, clean, reliable, and efficient vehicle fleet and maintenance facilities. Manage all fleet assets assigned to the facilities under his/her direct responsibility.

Assist in the preparation of the annual Fleet Services budget and fleet replacement strategy.

Job Scope

Failure to meet safety goals will jeopardize the health and well being of employees, clients, internal and external customers. Failure to meet financial targets would cause an increase in vehicle rates and directly impact the financial targets of EED, Exelon and our external customers.

This position must be able to effectively communicate with various department supervisors in identifying vehicle and equipment needs and scheduling equipment maintenance. Actively participate in various safety councils and respond to stakeholder requests in a timely-manner to ensure focus on internal customer needs. Failure to effectively manage the repair shops could cause excessive vehicle downtime, impacting the EED System Reliability Goals.

This position interacts with State Transportation and Environmental agencies. Failure to comply with Federal, State and local regulations during the day-to-day shop operations could result in loss of required licensing and subject Exelon to significant fines.

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
