Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Oak Harbor, OH, is seeking a Programs supervisor to plan and direct staff chemists and technicians in the day-to-day operation of a nuclear power facility. You will provide technical guidance and lead laboratories to ensure compliant chemical control and performance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and two years technical training in plant operation or chemistry.
  • Four years experience in the chemistry field with at least 2 years nuclear chemistry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and control chemistry resources and work activities at a nuclear plant.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff chemists and oversee laboratory analysis data.
  • Coordinate staff training and ensure compliance with NRC, INPO, and EPRI guidelines.
  • Interface with industry regulators and other groups as needed.

This function often calls for the derivation and application of new or unique approaches. The Programs supervisor provides technical guidance and leadership to subordinate chemists. Laboratory supervisors provide technical guidance and leadership to the technicians.Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities:•Plan, organize, direct, and control chemistry resources and work activities including authorization of work order activities, review/approve/close and update PM and Surveillance Work Order activities and developing work and training schedules.•Provide oversight of laboratory analysis data, assisting Operation Support group in procedure development/reviews and conducting benchmarking activities related to benchmarking and self-assessments.•Plan, direct and organize the staff chemist in the following areas including Primary Chemistry, Secondary Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Closed Cooling Systems and Water Production.•Interface with various industry and regulatory groups including USNRC, INPO and EPRI.•Coordinate staff training and development.•Oversight of chemistry control of plant systems in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry practice.Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:•High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND•Two years technical (plant operation or chemistry related) training.•Four years experience in the chemistry field with a minimum 2 years nuclear chemistry experience.•Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of personnel including bargaining unit, non-exempt and exempt.•Project Management skillsKey Metrics:•Technical competence•Teamwork•Problem solving/Decision making•Results OrientationJob FamilyPlant OperationsCompanyVistra Nuclear Operations CompanyLocationsOak Harbor, OhioOhioWe are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations, Great People, Teamwork, Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
