Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Director/CLS Manager to oversee the laboratory’s overall performance, ensuring quality, efficiency and compliance with regulatory agencies.

The role requires 5 years of CLS experience and a California license, with leadership and strong organizational skills to supervise staff and coordinate testing across the lab. This full-time position offers competitive benefits within the UHS network.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ CLS experience required; supervisory/management preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or California Clinical Specialty license required.
• Excellent reading, writing and presentation abilities for diverse audiences.
• Strong numerical and statistical reasoning; proficient in data interpretation.

Responsible for the overall management of the laboratory in an efficient, economic and quality manner; to the satisfaction of the Lab Medical Director, the Laboratory Department Director, Hospital Administration, and the medical staff. Supervises, coordinates and participates in all areas of laboratory testing and compliance with regulatory agencies

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• Work Experience: Five (5) years’ experience as a CLS is required. Supervisory or Management experience preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
• License, Certification, or Registration required: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or California Clinical Specialty License
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical/clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Strong critical thinking skills. Good organizational abilities. Must have strong background in managing people..
