Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of fire extinguishers and kitchen suppression hoods to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Perform detailed maintenance tasks, including disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of fire extinguishers and suppression hood systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect and replace parts such as valves, hoses, nozzles, seals, fusible links, and detection lines to maintain equipment functionality.
• Recharge extinguishers and suppression systems with appropriate agents and pressurize to recommended levels.
• Install and service brackets, nozzles, signage, and related safety equipment for proper mounting and coverage.
• Provide on-site training to customers on the use and maintenance of extinguishers and suppression systems.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records using the Service Trade platform.
• Assist with inventory management of extinguisher and hood components and stock levels.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinators to optimize work orders, routes, and scheduling.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Stay updated on fire safety technologies and regulations for extinguishers and kitchen systems.
• Perform semi-annual and annual inspections of kitchen suppression systems with functional testing and discharge simulations when required.

Job Summary:

A Suppression Service Technician - Hoods & Extinguishers is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and servicing of fire extinguishers and kitchen suppression hoods in accordance with industry standards and regulations. This role is critical in safeguarding lives and property by conducting thorough inspections, performing required maintenance, and providing expert service to our valued customers.

Pay Range:

$25.00/hour - $48.00/hour.

The posted salary range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position at the time of posting and is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual starting pay will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal equity, geographic location (where applicable), and market considerations. Not all candidates will be hired at the top of the posted range. The posted range reflects base salary only and does not include any applicable bonuses, commissions, overtime, or the value of employee benefits. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of fire extinguishers and kitchen suppression hoods to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Perform detailed maintenance tasks, including disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of fire extinguishers and suppression hood systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect and replace parts/components as needed, such as valves, hoses, nozzles, seals, fusible links, and detection lines, to maintain equipment functionality.
• Recharge fire extinguishers and suppression systems with appropriate extinguishing agents and pressurize them to recommended levels, following established procedures.
• Install and service fire extinguisher brackets, suppression hood nozzles, signage, and related safety equipment to ensure proper mounting and coverage.
• Provide on-site training to customers on the proper use and maintenance of fire extinguishers and suppression systems, promoting fire safety awareness and compliance.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency requests, troubleshooting issues and resolving them efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including inspections, repairs, replacements, and customer interactions, using Service Trade platform.
• Assist with inventory management of fire extinguisher, suppression hood components, and stock, ensuring adequate supply levels and proper storage conditions.
• Work closely with Service Coordinator(s) to optimize work orders, routes, and job scheduling, focusing on efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, always adhering to safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures.
• Stay updated on the latest fire safety technologies, regulations, and best practices for both fire extinguishers and kitchen suppression systems.
• Perform semi-annual and annual inspections of kitchen suppression systems, including functional testing and discharge simulations when required.
