Job summary

The Primary Grade-Level Classroom Aide supports the classroom teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, organized, and faith-filled learning environment for young children. Working with the teacher and primary-grade team, the Aide provides instructional, organizational, and student-support assistance to enable high-quality instruction.

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with young children.

Qualifications

• Support students individually and in small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Reinforce classroom routines, expectations, and positive behavior.
• Assist students who need additional support with transitions, organization, attention, or completion of classroom activities.
• Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to help students develop confidence and independence.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, transitions, and other assigned activities.
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist students with age-appropriate self-care and personal needs as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce skills and concepts introduced by the classroom teacher.
• Assist with literacy, phonics, mathematics, handwriting, and other classroom activities.
• Support hands-on learning, centers, projects, and classroom activities.
• Help prepare instructional materials, manipulatives, learning centers, and student work.
