Job summary

The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is seeking full-time faculty members at any rank to join the Supportive Oncology program, delivering inpatient and outpatient care and providing assessments for hematology and oncology patients.

Appointees will contribute to teaching and supervision of trainees, engage in scholarly activity, and help grow the program, with compensation based on qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a medical doctorate or equivalent.
  • Board certification or eligibility in General Psychiatry is required.
  • Residency training in Adult Psychiatry is required.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Illinois before appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for hematology/oncology patients and families.
  • Assessments and consultations for oncology patients as part of the Supportive Oncology program.
  • Contribute to growth of the Supportive Oncology Psychiatry program.
  • Teaching and supervision of residents and trainees; engage in scholarly activity.

Job description

The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank.

Appointees will contribute to psychiatric care of the Supportive Oncology program, including inpatient and outpatient care, providing assessments and consultations for hematology and oncology patients and their families.

They will also contribute to the continued growth of the Supportive Oncology Psychiatry program.

Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity.

Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

This position is benefits-eligible.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must:

  • 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent
