Allure of Zion Supportive Living is looking for a Wellness Director (Director of Nursing) (RN or LPN) to join their team.
Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of the Wellness Director position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The goal is to ensure the highest quality of care is maintained at all times, under the direction of the Administrator and the Medical Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the nursing service department, including its programs and activities, in accordance with governing rules, regulations, and guidelines. Developing and updating policies and procedures for the nursing department. Reporting on departmental operations to the Administrator.
- Coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care. Maintaining a quality assurance program, participating in facility surveys, and assisting in developing corrective action plans. Assisting with discharge planning and administrative duties such as completing reports and evaluations. Monitoring quality improvement metrics and survey reports.
- Determining staffing needs for each shift, assigning licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants to ensure quality care. Developing work schedules, delegating responsibilities, and conducting daily rounds to oversee staff performance.
- Collaborating with HR to develop annual performance evaluations and ensuring disciplinary actions are properly documented.
- Monitoring infection control, establishing TB management programs, and reporting occupational exposures. Ensuring safety policies are followed and staff are trained accordingly.
- Reviewing nurses’ notes for accuracy and completeness, monitoring medication administration and treatments, and providing direct nursing care as needed.
- Coordinating continuing education and in-service training for nursing staff.
- Maintaining confidentiality of resident information and reporting any incidents of unauthorized disclosures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must:
- Hold a current, unencumbered RN or LPN license.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Be proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
- Be a supportive team player and demonstrate teamwork.
- Have tactful communication skills with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and external agencies.
- Be knowledgeable of nursing practices, laws, and regulations pertaining to nursing facilities.
- Possess planning and organizational skills to develop and implement care programs and policies.
- Be able to communicate effectively about residents’ conditions and make independent decisions when necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements include:
- Mobility throughout the workday, handling mental and emotional stress.
- Meeting health requirements, including a medical and physical exam.
- Ability to lift/move at least 25 lbs and push/pull objects over distances.
- Assisting in emergency evacuations if necessary.
