Job summary

Liberty Resources in Oneida, NY is seeking a Full Time Housing Specialist to support the OMH Supportive Housing program. The role focuses on helping individuals and families maintain permanent housing and access financial assistance to secure stable homes.

Responsibilities include housing placement and ongoing rental assistance, developing individualized service plans, coordinating services with DSS, HUD, landlords and care managers, and documenting all activities in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years’ related experience.
• Associate’s degree with 1–3 years’ related experience, or a BA.
• Valid New York State driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides housing placement and ongoing rental assistance to chronically homeless individuals or families.
• Completes a strengths-based assessment and develops individualized service plans.
• Coordinates services with other providers and ensures continuity of client services.
• Offers outreach, crisis intervention, budgeting, and links to health services as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in on-call coverage to support staff.
• Maintains relationships with DSS, SSI, HUD, Section 8, landlords, and care managers.
• Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
