RiseWell Community Services is looking for full-time/part-time Peer Counselors to provide peer services in the Supportive Housing Program. Multiple positions are available within LI and the five boroughs.

Qualifications

Personal experience with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Ability and desire to assist others in mastery of independent living skills. Understanding of peer support self-help philosophy. Clean, valid driver’s license, Fingerprinting, Criminal record check, Approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.

Core & Essential Responsibility

To provide a positive role model of community functioning, informal counseling, and peer support to others with psychiatric disabilities currently living in supportive scattered-site housing who were formerly residing in Adult Homes.

REPORTS TO: Program Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Residential Services

Salary: $16.00 – $16.48 per hour
