Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Secure job placements for individuals in their community.
• Make face to face contacts with individuals per IPS Model and Georgia VR Agency.
• Manage a caseload ensuring services are authorized and charts are current.
• Link individuals to potential employers within 30 days of referrals.
• Maintain charts in compliance with APS, QI, CARF, DBHDD standards and submit reports on time.
• Complete daily documentation while with the individual.
• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary treatment/recovery meetings.
• Maintain professional boundaries with individuals and families.
• Pursue IPS employment support certification from the University of Georgia.

Highland Rivers Behavioral Health provides treatment and recovery services to individuals impacted by mental illness, substance use disorders and intellectual developmental disabilities.

JOB SUMMARY : The Supported Employment Specialist helps people who are receiving services from Highland Rivers Behavioral Health for severe mental health problems, substance abuse or addiction find jobs they like and will be good at. We believe everyone recovering from mental health issues or substance abuse is able to work at a good job if the right job and work environment can be found for them.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Secures job placement for individuals in their community. Negotiates with employers to develop suitable job(s) for individuals.
• Make face to face contacts with individuals according to the IPS Model and Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency
• Manage a caseload by ensuring all services are authorized, chart paperwork is complete and current, and individual charts are closed according to Policy and Procedure.
• Link Individual to potential employer within 30 days of receiving referrals based on Individual preference.
• Responsible for keeping all charts in compliance with APS, QI, CARF, DBHDD standards and submit ALL required reports by due date
• Completes all appropriate documentation on a daily basis while with the individual.
• Actively participates in multidisciplinary treatment/recovery team meetings each week.
• Maintains therapeutic professional boundaries when working with individuals and families.
• Participates in and receives certification for Supported Employment from the University of Georgia's Institute for Human Development and Disability.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A. High School Diploma or GED required.
• C. One or more years of experience as direct care service provider in a human service delivery setting, case manager, or instructor
• D. Experience with networking with businesses in the communities and linking individuals to potential employers for jobs
• E. Bilingual abilities a plus
